It’s Japan versus South Korea on US turf

Samsung has won the first round of war against Japan’s Sharp Corp. to stop importing few competitive products to United States. Samsung had alleged Sharp of infringing its LCD patents and asked the International Trade Commission to look into the matter. The initial ruling does favor Sammy but this not deter Sharp from importing them and carrying out sales.

Sharp’s spokeswoman has confirmed that the judgment was preliminary and they are seeking to appeal the decision. The outcome could take as long as April to come, which means by that time, Sharp has nothing to worry about.
