Samsung Mobile Innovator announces Mobile Widget SDK

TouchWiz UI

Since most of the Samsung phones are touchscreen and TouchWiz works as the core UI, Samsung has made a smart move by opening up the TouchWiz UI. TouchWiz relies heavily on widgets and now developers will be able to create different widgets for the UI.

The devs can use web technologies like HTML, JavaScript and CSS to create their widgets and make them compatible on different TouchWiz UI enabled platforms with minimum modifications.

As a start to the Samsung Widget SDK program, Samsung Mobile Innovator will launch a Widget Developer Camp scheduled from September 11-13. Devs can submit applications and selected applicants will be allowed to attend the camp.
