Samsung has bagged yet another contract to supply Mobile WiMAX equipment. In an exclusive agreement with Dominican Republic’s Wind Telecom, Samsung will provide commercial Mobile WiMAX equipment like WiMAX base stations and USB dongles to the Caribbean-based mobile operator.

Wind Mobile is expecting to start the WiMAX service in Q3 2010 initially at two locations – Santo Domingo and Santiago.

Samsung is undoubtedly a dominant player in Mobile WiMAX and currently provides its equipment to 26 operators in 22 countries.
