Samsung Application Store goes live

As expected, Samsung’s App Store has gone live in UK, France and Italy and is currently open only for Omnia i900 owners. It’s an on-device app where users can easily install it, connect over Wi-Fi or cellular network and download about 300 apps that are available initially by inputting the requisite credit card info (operator billing coming soon). Samsung is aiming to add around 2000 apps, including paid and free ones by the end of 2009.
The store will be gradually expanded to support additional handsets in over 30 countries and more languages.
